2017 Well Retrofit and Abandonment Program

CVWD is accepting applications from Coachella Valley Well owners for rebates of up to $35,000 per well for completing one of the following types of projects:

  1. Properly sealing leaking artesian wells: Wells must be in good condition with intact casing.
  2. Well Destruction: complete destruction which eliminates future use.
  3. Well Retrofit for CASGEM Program: Only CASGEM agencies are eligible to apply.

2017 DAC Septic Rehabilitation and Demand Reduction Program

CVWD is accepting applications from Disadvantaged Community Septic System owners for rebates of up to $30,000 per septic system for completing one of the following types of projects:

  1. Rehabilitation of existing septic systems to extend their useful life.
  2. Reducing demand on existing septic system by diverting laundry demand to greywater systems consistent with the “laundry to landscape” requirements in Chapter 16A of the California Plumbing Code for greywater systems that do not require permits or inspection, and utilize the laundry pump for distribution of greywater.

The purpose of this rebate program is to improve failing septic systems in communities where no public sewer infrastructure exists and septic systems are the only option for sewage disposal.
