CVWD and Congressman Raul Ruiz to highlight federal clean water funding in East Valley
Tomorrow, Thursday, January 19, at 10:45 a.m. – a press conference will cover information on $3.45 million in federal funding secured by Congressman Ruiz to improve access to clean drinking water in the Eastern Coachella Valley. The funding will aid the construction of the Valley View Mobile Home Park Water Consolidation Project for underserved communities that currently rely on unreliable private water systems. Many of these small water systems also have elevated levels of naturally occurring arsenic, nitrates, and fluoride.

BACKGROUND
CVWD actively works in collaboration with community members and stakeholders through the Disadvantaged Communities Infrastructure Task Force. It was created to secure access to safe affordable drinking water, wastewater and flood control services in historically disadvantaged Coachella Valley regions through strategic planning, funding procurement, needs assessment and reporting.
