Coachella Valley Water District is proud to highlight the essential role our employees play in providing safe and reliable water to our community as California celebrates the seventh annual Water Professionals Appreciation Week, Oct. 7-15.
We honor the dedication and expertise of our employees whose service allows CVWD to provide drinking water that meets some of the most stringent water quality standards in the nation.
In addition to domestic water, our highly trained staff offers expertise in a wide range of services: agricultural irrigation and drainage, groundwater replenishment and imported water, recycled/nonpotable water, stormwater protection and flood control, wastewater treatment, and water conservation.
We reached out to a sample of our staff members and asked why they are proud to work for the CVWD. Here is a snapshot of what we heard:
• “I love my job because I know that the daily tasks that I do help achieve a greater good and help ensure that the people of the Coachella Valley have access to clean water at an affordable cost.”
Alondra Loera, Engineering, Administrative Assistant I
• “I love what I do because I know that our nonpotable department at CVWD is making a difference for future generations to come.
Gus Orduno, Nonpotable Water, Crew Chief
• “My job has all I ever wanted such as great work environment, job security, good benefits, promotion opportunities, I get to work outdoors and never get bored behind a desk. I am proud to be part of this system that helps keep our water clean and safe.”
Martha de Espinoza, Operations, WRP Operator III
• “I love my job because every day presents a new challenge. There are always situations that force me to learn and grow. I take pleasure in knowing that I make positive contributions for our organization.”
