Credit Card Payment
To make a credit card payment, you can call our credit card services at 1 (800) 874-6558. It is an automated third-party service so you will need your water district account number handy. When your transaction is completed, you will be provided a confirmation number. This is your receipt of payment. If using this service to avoid discontinuation of service, you must call CVWD and provide the confirmation number. The credit card service will not report the information in the timely manner necessary to address a turn off notice.
Online Bank Payment
The Coachella Valley Water District is pleased to announce that a recent upgrade to our systems allows us to receive payments electronically from customers using online or telephone banking systems. Receiving these payments electronically will allow us to credit payments more quickly and accurately than the prior method of manually processing checks issued for individual accounts by banks and payment services.
Note. Payments must be made through U.S. banks.
For customers using this method to pay their monthly water bill, it is important that your water account number appears in your online banking provider's system in the same format as it appears on your recent water statement. The account number should be 11 or 12 digits in length, with no commas, periods, spaces, dashes, or alpha characters. An account number in an incorrect format may result in notification from your bank or payment service that they were unable to process your payment request due to an invalid account number.
If you verify your account number is in the correct format, but you continue to have difficulty issuing your payment electronically you may contact the District customer service by telephone. The telephone number is (760) 391-9600 or (800) 262-2651 (Southern California Only).
Billing
Water services are billed monthly and are due and payable 15 days after billing date. The bill will become delinquent if not paid within 30 days from the billing date. A late charge of 1 ½% per month will be charged on delinquent accounts. If a delinquency occurs, a turn-off notice will be mailed to the service mailing address at least 10 days prior to turn off. If the property owner has authorized a tenant to be billed, a courtesy turn-off notice will also be mailed to the property owner. If services are discontinued for nonpayment, all outstanding charges must be paid in full, including a turn-on charge for, before services will be reinstated. Returned payments will be assessed a $30 service charge.
PLEASE NOTE: CVWD has a water budget-based tiered rate structure. We recommend that you review information about CVWD’s tiered rate structure prior to starting service.
