Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) crews will be performing sanitation work in Palm Desert and Cathedral City on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
Starting at about 1 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 2 and continuing until about 9:30 a.m. Thursday Sept. 3, the work will include some traffic restrictions and lane closures. Drivers are asked to avoid the impacted areas when possible and to use caution in the area.
No water service disruptions are anticipated during the work.
These areas will be impacted:
At the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert.
Monterey Avenue, two southbound lanes will be closed and merged into the remaining lane on Monterey Avenue. Northbound turning lane will be closed. A lane on Fred Waring Drive will be closed and traffic will be merged into another lane.
At the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and San Anselmo Avenue in Palm Desert, the Fred Waring westbound turning lane at San Anselmo Ave. will be closed.
At the intersection of Portola Avenue and Allessandro Drive in Palm Desert, one
Portola Avenue southbound lane will be closed and traffic will be merged into another lane.
At the intersection of Cook Street and Country Club Drive in Palm Desert, the Cook Street southbound turning lane at Country Club Drive will be closed.
At the intersection of Date Palm Drive and Corral Road in Cathedral City, one southbound lane on Date Palm Drive will be closed and traffic will be merged into another lane.
At Cathedral Canyon Drive in Cathedral City, the Cathedral Canyon Drive turning lane at Canyon Mobile Home Community will be closed about 700 feet south of Dinah Shore Drive.
Traffic restrictions will be marked with cones and signs. CVWD thanks drivers for their patience during this work.
