Through February a contractor for Coachella Valley Water District will install new pipeline and paving along Hovley Lane East between Indian Ridge Drive and Eldorado Drive in Palm Desert.
Construction hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Portions of the westbound lanes will remain closed. Closures are marked and traffic will be rerouted to the eastbound lanes where one lane will be open in each direction. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. Alternate routes are Fred Waring Drive or Country Club Drive.
The work is part of a project to connect four golf courses to CVWD’s nonpotable water pipeline system. Construction is moving west along Hovley Lane East and is expected to reach the District’s largest water reclamation facility on Cook Street in April.
Coachella Valley Water District is a public agency governed by a five-member board of directors.
