Coachella Valley Water District’s indoor rebate programs are designed to assist homeowners and commercial customers who want to reduce their water usage by upgrading toilets, replacing inefficient devices, or installing new technology to improve efficiency.
CVWD’s Residential High-Efficiency Toilet Rebate Program is designed to assist homeowners who want to replace an old toilet(s) with a newer, more efficient one. Rebates of $100 per toilet, up to 2 toilets, are available to eligible homeowners on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers must recycle the old toilet. Customer must provide a receipt as proof of purchase and a receipt as proof of recycling. Old toilets must use 1.6 gallons per flush or more. New toilets must use 1.28 gallons per flush or less.
Old toilets must be recycled at customer expense. Desert Recycling (PDF) provides this service locally and is located in Thousand Palms. They charge $10 to recycle a toilet.
CVWD’s Commercial High-Efficiency Toilet Rebate Program is designed to assist homeowners who want to replace an old toilet(s) with a newer, more efficient one. CVWD offers a rebate of half the cost of the new toilet and installation, up to $140 per toilet. Old toilets must use 1.6 gallons per flush or more. New toilets must use 1.28 gallons per flush or less. Waterless urinals are also eligible for a $100 rebate.
CVWD offers free Water Brooms to commercial customers who qualify. Water brooms use approximately 2 gallons per minute (GPM) compared to a traditional hose and nozzle which consumes approximately 8-12 GPM.
CVWD offers free Pre-Rinse Nozzles to commercial customers who qualify. High efficiency pre-rinse nozzles use less than 1.3 GPM compared to traditional pre-rinse nozzles which consume approximately 2-5 GPM.
