CVWD’s contractor, T.E. Roberts Inc., is installing a nonpotable water pipeline installation on Frank Sinatra Drive.
Westbound lanes on Frank Sinatra Drive between Monterey Ave and Portola Avenue will be closed during construction hours. It was previously reported that eastbound lanes would be closed.
Construction hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. See map.
Closures will be marked and are expected to last until February 17, 2025.
The project will expand the non-potable water (NPW) pipeline system to maximize the use of recycled water instead of pumping groundwater for irrigation. This effort safeguards the Coachella Valley groundwater basin for future generations. It also addresses long-term water management goals by increasing the supply of recycled water, implementing source substitution, and improving water efficiency across all customer sectors.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
