   If the duration of the project is more than 180 consecutive days, please contact us at that time to request an extension of service.  Coachella Valley Water District Regulations Governing Domestic Water Service state that the water meter may be removed if temporary service remains for more than 180 consecutive days.

62. Responsibility for Payment of Water Bills*

    Requesting party is responsible for payment of water bills. By signing this document, I certify all information is true and correct, and acknowledge and agree to all terms and conditions set forth below.  I assume all responsibility for any bills, costs, loss, damage, penalties, charges, or fees associated with water service regardless of user or use. I understand all bills are due and payable within 15 days of billing. Bills not paid within 25 days of billing are assessed a 1.5% Late Charge. Bills not paid within 40 days of billing are assessed a $25 Delinquency Fee. At time of meter install monthly water fees will commence. I understand a $46 Account Establishment Fee will appear on my first bill.

64. Terms and Conditions
    
    Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) owns, operates, and maintains the portion of the water service line from the water main to the outlet of the hydrant or gate valve on the downstream side of the meter, check valve or backflow prevention device (Service Connection).
    
    The party requesting a temporary construction meter (Customer) is responsible for the remaining portion of the service line to the commercial unit or property being served (Customer Service Line) and the safekeeping of the temporary construction meter. To help with the safekeeping of the temporary construction meter, Customer may remove and secure the meter onsite. However, the meter must not be relocated and it must be accessible for meter reading each month.
    
    Customer assumes all risk of loss and damage to the Property, meter device and equipment, including any unit located on the Property or injury to persons arising out of the termination of such water service and hereby waives all claims in respect thereof against CVWD.
    
    Customer requesting a temporary construction meter is responsible for payment of water bills. Customer acknowledges that CVWD will provide a single Service Connection to Customer’s requested location identified in this application (Property). In the event CVWD discontinues water service to the location for any reason set forth in CVWD’s Regulations, including, but not limited to, failure to make payment when due, CVWD may, in accordance with the Regulations, discontinue water service to the Property.
    
    Customer shall assume the defense of, indemnify and hold harmless CVWD from and against all actions, causes of action, damages, demands, liabilities, costs (including, but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees), claims, losses and expenses of every type and description (collectively, Costs) to which it may be subjected or put, by reason of, or resulting from: (a) any death, injury, property damage, accident or casualty caused or claimed to be caused by the discontinuance of water service to the Property for any reason set forth in CVWD’s Regulations, including, but not limited to, failure to make payment when due. CVWD shall make all decisions with respect to its representation in any legal proceeding concerning this section. Customer hereby waives all claims and demands against CVWD for any such Costs.
    
    Service is subject to the requirements and limitations set forth in the Regulations of the District including, but not limited to, the right of the District to terminate such a connection at any time without notice. *
